Privacy Policy

What we collect when you book a car, why we hold it, and the choices you have. Written to be read rather than to be survived.

Last updated January 1, 2025 · Applies to this website and to every booking made through it.

The short answer

If you read nothing else on this page, read these four lines.

Do you sell my data?

No. Not to anyone, for any amount, ever. We do not run advertising and we have no advertising partners.

Do you track me around the web?

No. There are no analytics scripts, no advertising pixels and no third-party trackers on this site.

Who actually sees my details?

Us, the chauffeur driving you, our payment processor, our mail provider, and Google Maps when an address is typed into the form.

Can I have it deleted?

Yes. Ask us and we will delete it, apart from what tax and insurance rules require us to keep on a completed booking.

What we collect

Almost all of it is what you type into the booking form, because a car cannot be sent to an address nobody has given us.

  • Who you are: name, email address and phone number, and a billing address when you pay by card.
  • The journey: pickup and drop-off addresses, any stops, the date and time, the vehicle chosen, passenger and luggage counts, child seats and any special requests.
  • Flight details: the flight number, when you give us one, so the pickup can follow the aircraft.
  • Messages: anything you write to us through the booking, the contact form or by email.
  • Account details, if you choose to make an account. A booking does not require one.
  • Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, recorded in our server logs.

Why we hold it

Each of these is a reason we can point to. There is no fifth reason.

  • To provide the service: pricing the journey, dispatching a vehicle, and giving the chauffeur the address they are driving to.
  • To keep you informed: confirmations, receipts, changes, and replies to what you ask us.
  • To take payment and to issue refunds.
  • To meet legal, tax and insurance obligations that apply to a licensed car service.
  • To keep the site working and to investigate abuse of it.

Who we share it with

A short list, and it is the whole list.

  • The chauffeur driving you, who is given the pickup and drop-off addresses, your name, your phone number and anything you asked us to pass on.
  • Our payment processors, Stripe and PayPal, who handle card and account payments directly. Card numbers are entered on their systems and never reach ours.
  • Our email provider, which delivers confirmations and replies.
  • Google Maps, which receives an address as you type it in order to suggest completions and to measure the route.
  • Google reCAPTCHA, if it is switched on, which checks that a form was submitted by a person.
  • Law enforcement or a regulator, where we are legally required to.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it for marketing by anyone.

How long we keep it

Long enough to be useful and to satisfy the rules, and no longer.

  • Booking and payment records are kept for as long as tax and insurance rules require them.
  • Messages about a booking are kept with that booking.
  • An account is kept until you ask us to close it.
  • A quote that never became a booking is kept while it may still be accepted, and cleared after that.
  • Server logs are short-lived and are used for security and fault-finding only.

How it is protected

  • Every page and every form on this site is served over an encrypted connection.
  • Card details are handled by Stripe and PayPal on their own systems. We never see, store or transmit a card number.
  • Access to booking data is limited to the people who need it to run a journey.
  • Passwords, where an account has one, are stored hashed and cannot be read back by anyone, including us.
  • No system is perfect. If a breach ever affected your data we would tell you rather than hope you did not notice.

Cookies and what is stored in your browser

The short version: two cookies that make the site work, and a few preferences saved on your own device.

  • A session cookie, which keeps you signed in and keeps a booking together while you fill the form in.
  • A security token cookie, which stops a third-party site from submitting our forms on your behalf.
  • Your light or dark mode choice, and a booking you started but have not sent, are stored on your own device and never sent to us.
  • There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this site.
  • The Cookie Policy sets all of this out in a table, name by name.

Your rights

Ask us and we will do these. There is no form to fill in and no charge.

  • See it: a copy of what we hold about you.
  • Correct it: anything wrong or out of date.
  • Delete it: subject only to records we are legally required to keep.
  • Take it with you: your data in a form another provider can read.
  • Stop marketing: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and asking us directly works just as well.
  • Complain: to us first, and to your data protection regulator if we have not put it right.

Children

  • This site is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
  • Children travel with us often, as passengers on a booking made by an adult. In that case the only thing we hold about them is what the adult told us, usually a child seat and its type.

Changes to this policy

  • If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
  • A change that materially affects what we do with your data will be told to you directly rather than left on a page for you to find.
